Picture this: You recognize all of your baby’s sleep cues right away. You know that red around the eyes and a glazed look means that your baby is sleepy. That is confirmed as you change his diaper and see a late cue when he rubs his eyes and yawns. You swaddle your baby, feed him, and put him down in a dark room, awake but drowsy hopeful that today will be the day he puts himself to sleep. When he begins to scream, you sigh and pick him up. You know that your 6 month old requires about 3.5 hours of nap sleep in a day, so you are determined to get him to sleep. You rock, bounce, sing, and shush him until finally he is drowsy again and willing to go to sleep. His head feels heavy on your shoulder. You turn the Cloud B Sleep Sheep on as you lay him down and tiptoe quietly out of the room, being sure to miss that creaky floorboard. You close the door extremely gently and walk away with baited breath. After an hour of frustration, you have finally gotten the baby down to sleep! You sit down with your hot cup of coffee, about to let out a sigh of relief. Suddenly, the doorbell rings which startles the dog who starts barking like someone is breaking in. You groan and say a prayer that the baby will stay asleep as you open the door, only to be met with someone trying to get you to switch energy companies as the baby starts screaming. Again.
Don’t you wish there was some way besides disconnecting the doorbell that would discourage these unwelcome guests from ringing the doorbell? Well, there is! Our Baby Basics mamas made this easy and inexpensive solution that helps keep those doorbell ringers from waking up a sleeping baby!
